Holidays to Kenya are growing in popularity thanks largely to their availability on the high street and more affordable prices. Kenya is a year round holiday destination making it a great choice for holiday makers who want some winter sunshine but don't want the hassle of dealing with jet lag. This article will summarise what Kenya has to offer as a holiday destination, as well and a run down of things to see and do.
When is the best time to travel?
There are two main travel seasons in Kenya, the first is December and January, and the second is July and August. Temperatures vary greatly throughout Kenya thanks to the varying elevations, however, the temperatures on the coast range from 27 degrees in July and August to 31 degrees in December through to April. The rainy season is between April and June, and to a lesser extent October and November. Again, rainfall amounts vary throughout Kenya and even on the tropical coasts the 'rainy season' the rain is heavy but short lived.
The Main Resorts.
The main holiday resorts are situated along the Coral Coast, centered around the city of Mombasa, Kenya's second largest city. Diani Beach, Nyali Beach and Bamburi Beach are the resorts associated with Mombasa, while further north along the coast Watamu has its own unique appeal.
There are many top class hotels situated in these areas and many are offered on an all inclusive basis. There are also excursions offered to some of the many nature reserves that are located in Kenya.
